What is Remote Desktop (RDP)?

RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) lets you access a remote Windows server from your own computer. You can run programs, manage files, and use the server like a normal Windows PC.

How do I connect to my RDP or VDS?

Use the Remote Desktop Connection app on your device. Enter the IP address and login details provided in your activation email.

  • Windows: Search for "Remote Desktop Connection".
  • Mac: Install a compatible Remote Desktop client.
  • Android / iOS: Use any RDP client app.

Should I choose RDP or VDS?

It depends on your needs:

  • RDP: Shared server access, ideal for browsing, uploading/downloading, and basic tasks.
  • VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server): Fully dedicated resources with administrator access, ideal for software installation, development, and custom setups.

What is a VDS and what are its benefits?

A VDS is a Virtual Private Server with dedicated resources just for you. It gives full administrator access so you can install software, customize settings, and use it like a personal server.

How long does setup take for Windows RDP?

Your RDP login details are usually delivered within 10–30 minutes after payment. In rare cases, it may take up to 2–3 hours due to technical checks.

Can I install software on my RDP?

Yes — but for some RDP plans you may need to open a support ticket for software installation. For admin access RDP plans, you can install software yourself.

Can I choose a different operating system for RDP?

No, RDP plans come with Windows Server 2019 R2 x64 Standard only.

Are there any software restrictions on RDP?

Yes. You cannot install:

  • Web server software (e.g., XAMPP, WAMP)
  • Hacking/cracking tools
  • Port scanners or resource-intensive programs

Such software is strictly prohibited.

How are my files stored on RDP?

Each RDP plan includes a dedicated storage drive that only you can access. The size depends on the plan you choose.

Do all RDP plans include admin access?

Not all plans include admin privileges. If you need admin access, choose a Private RDP or Encoding RDP plan.

Can I use encoding software on my RDP?

Yes. Many of our plans (especially admin encoding plans) allow you to run encoding and similar tasks.

Is the IP address shared with others?

Yes. RDP servers use shared IP addresses. If you need a dedicated IP, consider our VDS or Private RDP plans.

Can I change my server IP using a VPN or proxy?

No. VPNs and proxies are not allowed on RDP. If you need a different IP, choose a dedicated server or VDS.

Can I choose other operating systems for VDS?

Yes. When ordering a VPS/VDS, you can select the version of Windows Server that best suits your needs.

Does a Windows VDS come with admin access?
